Raw timber will warp if untreated. We use exclusively kiln-dried basswood with moisture content stabilized at 8% to 10%, followed by anti-fungal sealant and three coats of UV polyurethane. For high-humidity locations like open bathrooms or beachfront balconies, we also offer moisture-proof faux-wood composite slats that will never absorb water.
What is the difference between classic flat-fold and relaxed roman blinds?
Classic flat-fold roman blinds feature horizontal fiberglass battens across the back, creating sharp, clean rectangular pleats when raised. Relaxed roman blinds omit the rigid battens, allowing the fabric to form a soft, curved dip in the center for a softer, organic aesthetic.
Can roman blinds completely block morning light in bedrooms?
Yes. We line our roman blinds with 100% blackout coated lining. Because the blind fits neatly inside the window reveal or overlaps the wall frame, it provides excellent room darkening for deep, restful sleep in resort suites.
Are vertical blinds suitable for large sliding glass doors?
Yes, vertical blinds are one of the most practical window treatments for large sliding glass doors. You can draw the slats entirely to the side when opening the glass door, or tilt them at an angle to block glare while maintaining ocean or garden views.
